After years of speculation and hope, Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire will finally be getting remakes on the Nintendo 3DS.
Nintendo announced today that the games, which released back in 2003, would be getting new additions in the form of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The games are set for a worldwide release come November 2014.
The announcement revealed very little other than the box art, names and release date. However one interesting choice of words was that the trailer did say "Explore a dramatic new world." This very well could mean that the game isn't exactly a remake and may actually build upon some of the aspects of Hoenn in a whole new way.
Whether a remake or a new sequel of sorts, it was only a matter of time before we got sent back to Hoenn. As of now the only way to get many Generation III Pokemon was by transferring from a Game Boy Advance to a DS, then a DS to a 3DS. This will certainly make the tedious process of completing the Pokedex a much easier task.
Little else is known about the game as of now, but there will certainly be more information to come as we get closer to the release date.
