The original releases of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire include the ability to setup a secret base. Nintendo and Pokémon Company International confirmed their return Tuesday for Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire on the Nintendo 3DS. Only, now they have been upgraded to “Super-Secret” status.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will allow you to build a Super-Secret Bases once you meet a new character named Aarune. He and his Fygon are world travelers that will show you how to get started building your own Super-Secret Base.
Once started, you’ll be able to customize your Super-Secret Base with decorations, mazes or traps. You’ll also be able to set your own Pokémon battle rules for the base to make it like your own Pokémon gym.
Your Super-Secret Base can be shared with others that own Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire by using either the StreetPass functionality or QR codes. Likewise, you can visit other Secret Bases to meet other trainers and invite them to become a “Secret Pal.” Players given that status will gain extra benefits like sharing decorations, make Pokémon eggs hatch faster or raise the level of a select Pokémon by one.
Another activity that will be available in the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Super-Secret Bases is the ability to capture a flag. Examine the flag next to the Secret PC in each base that you visit to capture it. You will be able to capture one flag a day from each base and the more you collect improves your team’s rank, grants rewards and increases the skills of your Secret Pals.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are currently set for a Nov. 21 release for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS in North America and Japan. The European release will follow a week later on Nov. 28.
