While the video reveal was extraordinarily brief, it did confirm“Pokémon Omega Ruby” and “Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” for the Nintendo 3DS were both given a sneak peak Saturday night. While the video reveal was extraordinarily brief, it did confirm a few things about the upcoming games.

The sneak peak first appeared on the Japanese children variety show “Pokémon Get TV” before the same footage of what appears to be game title screens for Groudon and Kyogre was posted on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. The total game footage time only came to be about 20 seconds of the 39 second video but it did confirm that “Pokémon Omega Ruby” and “Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” will use the same 3D game engine from “Pokémon X” and “Pokémon Y.”

Additionally, “Pokemon Omega Ruby” and “Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” may use the Mega Evolutions that were introduced in “X” and “Y.” There’s no official word from Nintendo or The Pokémon Company about the use but it was mentioned / teased by one of the personalities on “Pokémon Get TV.”

“Omega Ruby” and “Alpha Sapphire” are remakes of “Pokémon Ruby” and “Pokémon Sapphire,” which were original released for the Gameboy Advanced in 2002. The game is set in the Hoenn region that features a large island surrounded by several smaller island that players can access.

The original announcement for the remakes stated that “an epic new adventure is coming.” That suggests less of a straight remake of the original “Ruby” and “Sapphire” versions of Pokémon and more of a reboot or reimagining, which would be the case if the games are introducing the concept of Mega Evolutions. These are evolutions that require the Trainer to hold a mega stone to mega evolve a Pokémon only for a single battle.

Pokemon Omega Ruby” and “Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” will be released to the Nintendo 3DS in November of this year. The game will be available on the Nintendo 2DS as well.m a few things about the upcoming games.
