If you recently bought a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y, then we have a word of caution to share with you today. On Oct. 14, it was discovered that a game-breaking glitch has found its way into Pokémon X/Y. According to posts on GameFAQs, players are encountering the glitch on both Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
Luckily, the exact area has been discovered and a method on how to avoid it.
It seems that players have encountered a save issue in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y while in Lumiose City – one of the game’s major cities. Those who save in and around the outer streets of the city have experienced game lock ups, forcing the player to shut the 3DS off. Upon reboot, the game loads the save file and then freezes once again and continues to do so in an infinite loop.
A player has captured the glitch in a video – watch it in full here.
This game-breaking save glitch has been found to plague both physical and digital copies of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. For those with the game, it would be best to avoid saving in Lumiose City at all costs.
