Several images from an upcoming issue of CoroCoro magazine were leaked this morning, revealing a slew of new information pertaining to Pokémon X and Y. The scans have not yet been verified, though they look as legitimate as previous confirmed leaks. These scans reveal the evolved forms of the three starting Pokémon, as well as a few new Mega Evolutions.
Chespin's first evolution remains a pure grass-type and becomes more like a chestnut in appearance. It also learns the move mud shot. Fennekin's evolution learns psycho cut and becomes a bipedal creature with what appears to be a stick for a tail. This has led many to speculate that Fennekin's final evolution will be based on the classic depiction of witches and may be both Fire and Psychic-type. Finally, Froakie's evolution learns Bounce and becomes a bit larger in size. Each of the evolutions are currently only known by their Japanese names. The final forms and possible mega evolutions of these starters were not featured in today's leak.
Two fossil Pokémon were also revealed. The first is Chigorasu, a Rock/Dragon-type, whose special ability increases the power of biting moves. The second one is Amarusu, a Rock/Ice Diplodocus, who has a new ability called “freeze skin”, which turns Normal-type moves into Ice-type.
A mega evolution for Garchomp was also shown. Mewtwo will receive a second mega form, which will apparently only be available in Pokémon X, while the already confirmed form can be found in the opposite version. This evolution is Psychic/Fighting and requires “Mewtwonite X” to initiate the transformation.
The rumored character customization was also touched upon. Players can change their hair and clothes by visiting a boutique. However, it still isn't clear whether players will have the option to change their appearance at the start of the game. It was also revealed that Team Flare, this generation's villainous organization, has the desire to make the world a more beautiful place. How GameFreak will make that the least bit threatening is anybody's guess.
