'Pokémon' is headed to McDonald's with new Happy Meal toys

Back in the heyday of "Pokémon," several fast food restaurants scrambled to snap up the license to serve hungry boys and girls with dinner and a toy from their favorite media property. Burger King had one of the most memorable lineups, right down to the gold-plated "Pokémon" cards that are coveted in collectors' circles.

It's been a while since we saw new toys incorporating Poké Balls, but McDonalds is introducing a brand new batch of 12 "Pokémon X&Y" toys, each with its very own trading card and "McPlay Power," which implies functionality with smartphones. The mixture of toys includes monsters like Froakie, Mewtwo, and Blastoise.

If you want to let your inner child indulge, head out to McDonald's for dinner and a treat, and let us know which toy you end up getting.
