With the release of Pokémon X and Y on a fast approach, I thought it might be a good idea if I start covering Pokémon in depth. There are at current over 640 of them, so I feel that getting started right away might be a good idea.
010 – Caterpie, 011 – Metapod, 012 - Butterfree
So now we’re onto the insect Pokémon. Frankly, I think these and other Pokémon types are lost when it comes to starters. They should have the Pokémon change for your starter based on yours and your rival’s names. That way any Pokémon could be your starter, but I digress.
So Caterpie, a small bug type Pokémon resembling a Caterpillar. Not much to say about this one. He’s looked pretty much the same in all the games, and doesn’t learn more than a couple moves.
Butterfree is a flying bug type with the added incentive of learning confusion, and in the early game, this was a great supplement if you chose Charmander as your starter.
Okay, I know this is out of order, but out of these three, the mid evolution would be my favorite, and the only reason I have behind this is its Pokémon yellow sprite. The way it looked was awesome. If caught in the wild, Metapod only knows harden. But the sprite was well worth it.
Well that’s it for the next 3…. Another 637 to cover yet, then I can get into the x and y Pokémon. I’ll be covering the complete evolution chain with each one. But for now, good luck and god speed gamers.
