In celebration of National Poetry Month, Book Haven will host Poetry for Every Ear, poetry readings by Shavano Poets Society members, on April 4, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. Book Haven is located at 135 F Street in downtown Salida, Colorado. The event is free and open to the public. Shavano Poets Society members will read selections from their anthology, Parade of Poets. Featured SPS members scheduled to read include award winning author and poet Doanne Houghton-Alico, author and poet Kate Bell, Buena Vista poet Marge Dorfmeister, Salida poet Barbara Ford, Jean Hanfelt, Felice Larson, Salida poet Laurie James, Twin Lakes poet Lynda La Rocca and Buena Vista poet and author Maria Weber. There will also be guest readings from Salida poet and author Craig Nielson, and Denver performance poet and author SETH.

Book Haven was voted one of Southern Colorado’s Best Independent Bookstores on the Southern Colorado Literature Examiner in 2010 and in 2012. Book Haven’s popularity is due to a comfortable atmosphere and Book Haven’s support of local authors by hosting events like this one. Poetry for Every Ear is sure to be a reading you won’t want to miss.
