Poet Alice Fulton gives reading sponsored by Emily Dickinson Museum -- American poet Alice Fulton will give a reading sponsored by the Emily Dickinson Museum this month. The reading will take place on the campus of Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts on Saturday, November 12. Ms. Fulton has acknowledged the influence of Emily Dickinson on her work.

Alice Fulton is the Ann S. Bowers Professor of English at Cornell University. She has eight published books including Cascade Experiment: Selected Poems; Felt: Poems; and Sensual Math.

About Emily Dickinson, she has said she has been "influenced by Dickinson from her earliest days of writing poetry."

Ms. Fulton will give the reading in the Pruyne Lecture Hall at Fayerweather Hall on campus. The reading will begin at 3 p.m. ET and is free and open to the public.

The Emily Dickinson Museum: The Homestead and The Evergreens is open for tours on Wednesdays through Sundays through the end of December. The museum will be closed for the season in January and February and re-open in March, 2012. For more information, see the museum's website.
