18 seasons have passed since the last time Pittsburgh has seen a winning baseball team and from talking to fans at the home opener today they come for 2 reasons; the view and the food. You can now add the beer to that list.
With three professional sports venues in Pittsburgh, craft beer fans have been left out when trying to find a crafted to kick back with at a sporting event. Now the team with the longest losing record is winning when it comes to best overall offerings.
PNC Park has the best selection and best overall value if you’re looking for craft beer.
Along with an extensive menu, which includes gluten free beer, the Pirates offer a “Beer Passport” which meets once a month. The $40 price tag per session will get you a seat in the exclusive Pittsburgh Baseball Club ($7 off regular price), a $5 credit and beer samplings for 90 minutes prior to game time in Club 3000. For more information go to http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/pit/ticketing/beer_passport.jsp
When you arrive at the stadium you’re given a book that, along with a scorecard and stories on the team, contains the locations of amenities around PNC Park. You’ll see every macro beer listed but craft beer is grouped into one category. Extensive research and a lot of walking today have provided the following guide with prices and locations where to make your next purchase.
