If you need another take on a New Year's resolution, take a look at plus-size model Crystal Renn.
The 5-foot-9, size 12 model will be featured in Elle Canada's first issue of 2010 and the brunette bombshell looks more sultry than ever.
Renn, now 23, started her modeling career in high fashion when she was 14 and to keep up with the runway, Renn lost weight - To the point she was "miserable" and "exhausted", she said in an interview with the Associated Press.
"I couldn't walk another step without being exhausted, or having hair clumps falling out," Renn says. After that, she gained 70 pounds and was re-marketed by her fashion agents. Today? She's much happier.
In a past interview with GlamChic, Crystal even commends Glamour magazine for being one of the ones that helped her break her bad habits.
"Let me just tell you something about Glamour," Renn told GlamChic. "They were the only people who ever called my agency and said this girl has a problem. They are all about health and promoting women’s issues," she said. Adding "Glamour, I have to say is one of the leaders of the pack. I remember I was completely ill on that shoot when my disorder got worse and they called my agency and said something is very wrong with her."

Since then, Renn has come out with a memoir about her struggles with weight, self-esteem and defining the price of beauty. See more pictures of beautiful Crystal Renn in Elle Canada 2010 here.

Comments
WHen I was 19 I did a few pageants and an agent told me to lose 10 lbs, I was skinnier than Renn, I was a size 10 and am 5 11. I weighed 150 and I looked fabulous, but they sill said I had to lose weight. I am 45 now. That is how ridiculous the modeling agencies have become. If you look at weight charts for my height, that is the low side of healthy but not too thin, I good weight for me is 160, however, they always want models ridiculously thin. Now Renn is a normal size but not good enough for agencies. And we wonder why so many girls are feeling fat about themselves. I felt fat about myself too, but now I wish I was that "fat" at age 45.
