New York- A few good men and women from PLUS (Pakistan League of USA) opened up their wallets to help save a young man's life in Lahore, Pakistan. 29 year old Mahmood Ali was diagnosed with Blood Cancer but belonged to a poor family and couldn't afford the four sessions of chemotherapy recommended by his doctor Mr. Muneeb Nisar.
Each session cost 400,000 Pakistani Rupees which is around $4000. Given that he receives the required chemotherapy, Mahmood has an over 70 percent chance of recovering from the deadly disease.
According to details, President PLUS Mr. Ajmal Chaudhry was contacted by Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rahman Syed seeking his help for donations that will cover two chemotherapy sessions to help save Mahmood's life. First two session had already been donated by Dr. Rahman himself with some help coming from the government as well.
Mr. Chaudhry sprung into action and immediately made an appeal through email and social media to fellow PLUS members by first committing his donation of a $1000. In no time, his fellow PLUS members stepped up to the plate donating over $9000 which is more than enough for the two additional sessions needed. What's left of the collected donations will be given to young Mahmood's family to help ease their hardship.
