Pleasant weather continues, but more summer on the way

Cincinnati Forecast - August 14th, 2014-slide0
Mike Groenke

Our break from the humidity is in full swing! The dew point could drop as low as the upper 40s for Friday which is well below the threshold of mugginess of 60 degrees. That dew point will creep closer to 60 by late Saturday afternoon however. After which, it will continue to rise and stay high for quite a few days.

Clear skies and calm winds will spell a cool night with patchy fog Thursday night. Expect plenty of sunshine on your Friday with highs around 80 degrees.

An unsettled weather pattern develops once again this weekend and right into next week. As of right now, it looks like rain will stay away until at least sunset on Saturday night. A few isolated storms may creep in later in the evening hours from the northwest. Highs will head for the middle 80s.

A better chance of rain finds us on Sunday with highs in middle to upper 80s. The highest threat for thunderstorms will be on Monday as a stronger weather disturbance ripples through the jet stream.

The heat and humidity will continue to build through next week. While no excessive heat is currently expected (as in well above 90), but the warmth and humidity will make it certainly feel like the middle of August in the Ohio Valley. Isolated storms will continue to be a possibility through much of next week as well. Stay tuned to for the latest forecast updates.
