Playstation Plus battle: UK takes on USA in the first week of February

As the month begins, both countries gear up for another battle. To start off, the US attacks with a free version of Guardians of Middle Earth. This is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game that features five-vs.-five arenas and over 20 classic Middle-Earth heroes and villains to control. It then throws in sales for Karateka (PS3) (original: $9.99, PS+: $5.00), Big Sky Infinity (PS3/Vita Cross-Buy original: $9.99, PS+: $5.99), and Knytt Underground (PS3 and Vita versions original: $14.99, PS+: $8.99).

The UK, having given nothing in the final week of January has an effective counter, however. To combat the US's Guardians of Middle Earth, the UK throws out three contenders. F1 Race Stars, Quantum Conundrum, and a game that has been quite popular, Sleeping Dogs. Sleeping Dogs is an open-world Action/Adventure game that follows the story of Wei Shen as he goes deep undercover in a feared Triad gang. Will he be able to shut the gang down? Will he end up joining the gang for good? Or will he perhaps be killed in the line of duty?

The UK counters the four sales with a heap of sales of its own. In addition to a host of DLC for both F1 and Sleeping Dogs (F1 content is 10% off while the Sleeping Dogs DLC is 15% off), they put up Alien Breed: Impact (20% off), Alien Breed 2: Assault (20% off), Alien Breed 3: Descent (20% off), the full Alien Breed Trilogy bundle (20% off), and Anomaly Warzone Earth (25% off).

While the end of last month may not have been very good for PS+ members in the UK, this month more than makes up for it. Hosting perhaps one of the most popular games in 2012 as well as Quantum Conundrum and F1 Race Stars, the UK wins the first battle of the month through sheer force. Can the US make a comeback? Find out next week!
