Playstation Plus battle: UK takes on USA, second week of January

This week will be a bit different, as I intend to only take into account the free items while comparing. Next week I will resume trying to compare all, unless, of course, those of you who actually read these prefer I just compare freebies. Before we get into this week's comparison, however, let's take a look at who won overall for December.

Honestly, for the month of December, the UK received better games overall. The US nearly overcame it at least one week due to a combination of freebies and deals, but the UK constantly won, and managed to take the crown for the last month of 2012. If you disagree, please, let us know why in the comments.

This week, the UK gets a free Vita app called Imaginsturments. This is part of the "Discovery apps" initiative and brings gamers a unique interactive experience that mix gameplay and real life experiences to help you experience the joy of music. In addition to discounts, the full list of which can be found here, the UK PS+ members gain access to the God of War: Ascension beta, as well as several pieces of DLC for various games and free avatars.

The US gets four pieces of free content. The first piece is the same as one the UK gets, namely access to the God of War: Ascension beta. US PS+ members also get an avatar, a piece of NCAA 13 content, and a bundle. The bundle in question? Megaman 9 and 10, both of which are considered to be great additions to the Megaman franchise. The rest of the discounts for the US can be found here.

So who wins this week? The US pulls the victory out from under the newly crowned UK, offering the same PS3 game/beta and adding in the Megaman 9/10 bundle against UK's Vita sound application. Can the US manage to continue to defeat the UK this month, or will the UK come from behind and reclaim the crown?
