Playstation Plus battle: Europe takes on USA, week of February 20, 2013

The struggle between regions continues as another week goes by. The UK lines up with a free (for 2 weeks) Dust 514 starter pack, as well as a Vita game, Lumines Electronic Symphony. It follows the one-two assault by offering up discounts on flOw (50% off), Fat Princess (50% off), Urban Trial Freestyle (20% off), the Zombie Driver HD Apocalypse Pack (30% off), Assassins Creed 3: Liberation (30% off), and Urban Trial Freestyle (20% off).

The US is not caught unprepared, however. To counter the one-two free punch the UK started off with, the US brings out two free games of its own. The first free game is one that the UK received earlier; Vanquish. Their counter to the Vita freebie, Lumines, is to offer up Megaman Maverick Hunter X for free.

With the free assault deflected, the US hopes to fight off the barrage of discount punches. however, they are only able to block two of the UK's rapid-shot assualts. Offering up Urban Trials Freestyle (PS3version. Regular: $14.99, PS+: $11.99) and Urban Trials Freestyle (PS Vita version. Regular: $9.99, PS+: $7.99) isn't enough to hold off the vicious attack. The remaining four punches go through, knocking the US out.

This round belongs to the UK. But you can rest assured that the US won't just sit back and lick its wounds. They plan to fight back in a rematch next week, but will it be enough?
