Sony has finally revealed their much anticipated Playstation 4. Sony unveiled the system at an event in New York and showed a video of what the system is capable of. The video included scenes of different unnamed games being played through and other cinematic trailers showing what we can look forward to in the next generation of gaming. The Playstation 4 is slated to be released this holiday season to the masses who are now drooling over the specs and video they have seen. Sony revealed that inside of the Playstation 4 will essentially be a top of the line computer. This will obviously help them compete with computer giant Microsoft when they unveil the XBOX 720 in June.
The only two things that were not shown at the event were the planned price of the system and what the system actually looks like. Jack Tretton, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America explained, “I don’t know that the box is going to be something that’s going to have a dramatic impact on people’s feelings about the game. It will be a color and a size fairly comparable to previous consoles.”
In 2006 when the Playstation 3 hit shelves it was priced at $500 and $600 until eventually being marked down to a reasonable $300. Sony executives have hinted at the idea that the Playstation 4 will arrive with a price tag much similar to when the PS3 debuted.
Now that the PS4 is unveiled, what do you think, will you be buying one? Let me know in the comment box below.
