The PlayStation 4 will be featuring a major emphasis on social networks and being connected to them, in addition to being connected with Gaikai on a substantial basis.
According to a report from IGN on Monday, new details have surfaced that point to the PlayStation 4 having major integration with Gaikai, YouTube and a slew of other social networks.
Last summer, Sony made the acquisition of the cloud-gaming service Gaikai, and since then, they have been investing significantly in order to make sure Gaikai's technology will enhance their upcoming PlayStation 4 in the way they want it to.
The company has been working on the technology so that it will allow gamers to be able play current PlayStation 3 titles on the device, which will make the amount of titles gamers have to choose from, have a lot more variability. The PS4 will still be playing games on optical discs as well.
PlayStation 4 will indeed allow gamers to share achievements on most social networks through links to Facebook and Twitter, while also letting gamers have the chance to upload their own gameplay footage to YouTube.
The PlayStation 4 is also said to be allowing gamers the chance to compete against each other through other devices such as smartphones, the PS Vita and tablets.
