The PlayStation 4 is only a matter of 12 days away from being announced, assuming the 20th of this month is when that will happen, but Sony couldn't need a bolster in sales anymore than they do now.
According to a report from GamesIndustry yesterday, Sony's game division ended up posting quarterly totals of $2.86 billion, but that number is down on the year-over-year comparison.
However, Sony's operating income did drop a shocking 86 percent when looking at the year-over-year.
Corporate Executive Officer, EVP, and Chief Financial Officer Masaru Kato talked about what the company needs to be doing better and with what device.
"One thing is clear for us. In terms of profitabillity we have to do a better job of promoting the Vita.
"Although we have reduced forecasts on many product lines, mobile phones and home game devices haven't been revised.
"That should give you an idea of our confidence in the division," Kato said.
PlayStation fans should feel confident about what Kato said, but some of his confidence could of course be coming from a little device called the PlayStation 4.
That machine is highly expected to be announced this coming Feb. 20th.
