The PlayStation 4 has picked up some major attention this past week due to leaks and reports being shelled out left and right, but the head of Sony says one thing that needs to happen at Sony is for them to show off tech they have and no one else does.
According to a report from the Associated Press on Thursday, Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai talked about how he is personally overseeing a couple of projects to ensure their authenticity.
"I'm shepherding several of those projects personally myself to make sure that it doesn't get held up in the bureaucracy, or it doesn't suddenly fade away in the approval process," Hirai said.
Sony has been pushing their newly developed 4K resolution TVs, and not only that, they are also working on a next-generation gaming system.
Hirai voiced the importance of showing the unique technology they have that competitors do not, and said Sony needs to be quicker when it comes to making decisions.
"Sony needs to show that it is showcasing its unique imagery technology, not doing something everyone is doing.
"It needs to create new sectors in the electronics market. Otherwise, it's stuck fighting over the crumbs of the same pie.
"We need to be a lot faster in decision making. We need to be a lot faster in execution. We need to be passionate about our product. Are we perfect? No. But I think we've improved significantly," Hirai said.
As a consumer, are these the things you want to hear from a Sony executive like Hirai?
