With Sony unveiling it's Playstation 4 and new DualShock 4 controller, you'd expect them to pretty much leave it at that. However, Sony made sure to show off it's new Playstation Eye, which is set to take over from the original Playstation Eye which saw little use by most gamers.
The Playstation 4 Eye, pictured above, comes with two cameras packed in. The max resolution is 1280 x 800, and had four microphones built in. The camera also has a 85 degree field of view.
There's a reason for the Playstation 4 Eye having two cameras, one is used for capturing the setting around the gamer. The second camera is used to handle motion tracking of the gamer. It's basically a high end Kinect.
The two cameras will recognize gestures, allowing for body tracking and will work with the Move functionality that's built into the DualShock 4 controller. One of Sony's goals is to allow players to snap 3D pictures and videos and house them on the PS4.
The microphones built into the Eye will be incorporated into various PS4 games, but Yoshida didn't give away any info on if there would be voice controls for the console itself. Chances are however, they're making it happen.
The Playstation 4 is expected to launch holiday 2013.
