As Christmas approaches shoppers everywhere are in search of the perfect gift. Those with a gamer in their lives do not have to fret about what to buy. In some cases however, they are hoping they can find it in stock.
When the next gen consoles made their début we all wondered, who would win the console war. According to BuyVia more than 150,000 consumers turned to them to search for a PlayStation 4 between Nov. 25 and Dec. 14. While in that same time frame only 45,000 people used the site to look for an Xbox One. That’s a ratio of 3.3 to 1. Of those using the site 43% bought an Xbox One while 57% bought a PlayStation 4. Apparently, since the PlayStation 4 seems to be elusive, consumers feel more compelled to make a purchase when they find one in stock. Xbox One systems are a different story altogether.
This may explain why Microsoft is flooding the internet and television with commercials while Sony's PlayStation 4 commercials are all but extinct. This does necessarily mean that the PlayStation 4 is outselling the Xbox One. The Xbox One seems to be readily available in stores so there's no need to turn to the internet in order to find one.
While the battle of the consoles rages on, both consoles are still reporting that these consoles are the best selling consoles of their respective histories.
