I wanted to let you all know about a playshop opportunity that is new to Santa Clarita.
Never heard of a playshop? I didn't either, until I read about this one offered by Elizabeth Johnson, Harvard graduate and Certified Learning Support Coach. Read more about her background and some helpful articles on her website.
Here are the details about her newest playshops and all it promises to be. It is open to any family in the community, but she has tons of experience working with homeschoolers.
Pathway to Success Playshop - cutting-edge, transformational playshops (like workshops only fun) for children and families. These are in alignment with the SEL movement currently shifting our nation’s educational system. Social Emotional Learning is greatly under-represented in our current educational paradigm. I am offering playshops to help kids and parents develop excellence in emotional intelligence and successful social relationships.
The “Pathways to Success” playshop includes 2 hours of activities like the Gordian Knot activity, Ramifications– emotions, actions and consequences, Reflective Affirmations, and more. Children and parents will come away from this unique event with tools they can use right away, as well as an understanding of themselves and others, empowering them to create a state of flow in a vessel of carefully crafted security; so, their individuality and creativity may blossom to its fullest potential.
The playshops cater to children of ages 4-12: For the younger kids, the parents are invited to stay for a parent and me type format.
There are several playshops scheduled in the Santa Clarita area, but if you would like to put together a group of 10-15 participants, Elizabeth will come to you.
