He won the hearts of America during the Eleventh season of American Idol when he was announced the winner on May 23, 2012. He brought to the show a “rootsy” flavor of rock and roll and since then has been busy touring around the world. On Friday, September 19, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. Phillip Phillips will be making a stop at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre for one show only. Tickets are now on sale for the show.
The show follows the recent release of his second album “Behind the Light” with all songs written or co-written by Phillips including the single “Raging Fire” which is an epic and urgent love song that had its debut in the Billboard Hot 100 after its March release and quickly caught on due to Phillips’ dynamic vocal delivery and electrifying guitar work. The album “Behind the Light” is the follow-up to his 2012 release of “The World from the Side of the Moon” that went platinum plus after debuting at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 and featured the hit the 5 times platinum hit “Home”.
Over the past year, Phillips (a native of Georgia) has toured the U.S. and the world with Matchbox Twenty and John Mayer while also sharing the stage with Bruce Springsteen at the “2013 Rock in Rio Festival” while wrapping up the summer tour with O.A.R.
Phillip Phillips will perform Friday, September 19th at 8 p.m. at PlayhouseSquare’s State Theatre. Tickets range in price from $20-$49 each. Tickets are on sale now.
