“Chicago” producers Barry and Fran Weissler announce that award winning actor of stage, TV and film, John O’Hurley has returned to the tour and will be reprising his role of Billy Flynn at the Palace Theatre on PlayhouseSquare in Cleveland.
Known best as “J. Peterman” on the hit series “Seinfeld”, John also danced his way to fame by becoming the ultimate champion on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. He was also the host of “Family Feud” as well as King Arthur in the touring production of “Monty Python’s Spamalot”. John is also a composer and author as well.
“Chicago” is the musical tale of 1920’s Chicago that was the hotbed of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery and treachery. Roxie Hart is a housewife and nightclub dancer who has brutally murdered her lover. In order to escape the gallows she hires Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer, Billy Flynn (John O’Hurley) to defend her. Using sensational headlines, publicity stunts and courtroom gymnastics Billy is determined not to lose this “unwinnable case”.
“Chicago”,with book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, features music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb is the number one longest running American musical in Broadway history. This national tour is directed by David Hyslop with choreography by David Bushman, set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey, Lighting Design by Ken Billington, Sound Design by Scott Lehrer, Orchestration by Ralph Burns and music direction supervised by Rob Fisher.
Tickets are on sale now for CHICAGO, January 7 -12, 2014, at PlayhouseSquare’s Palace Theatre.
