Four women meet by chance at a department store lingerie sale as they examine a black lace bra together. The conversation soon turns towards what they have in common as they discuss the humorous side of “the change of life” with its hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges. They decide to form their own support group with the realization that menopause is not “The Silent Passage” they were led to believe it is but a natural stage of development in every woman’s life.

“Menopause The Musical” is written by Jeanie Linders, directed by Seth Greenleaf and choreographed by Daria Melendez and is produced by GFour Productions. It is 90 minutes of laughter that includes parodies of classic 60’s, 70’s and 80’s songs. Originally opening in 2001 in Orlando, Florida nearly 11 million women have attended performances in over 450 U.S. cities and 300 international venues in fifteen countries around the world. Originally inspired by a hot flash/bottle of wine episode, writer and producer Jeanie Linders decided to make the show a celebration of women who are at the cusp, in the middle or have passed through the trials of “The Change”.
