This season at PlayhouseSquare promises to be one of the greatest collections of live entertainment in Cleveland history. On Friday, September 5, 2014 beginning at 11:00 a.m. tickets will go on sale for more than 80 different shows that include Broadway, Dance, Comedy, Concerts and Family Programming as part of PlayhouseSquare’s “Season On Sale” event. Single tickets will be offered for such shows as the KeyBank Broadway Series which includes: Motown, Disney’s Newsies, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Pippin, Kinky Boots and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella as well as non-series Broadway shows that include Stomp, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and I Love Lucy Live; great family shows such as The Adventures of Robin Hood, Timber!, and The Ugly Duckling and The Tortoise & The Hare; and legendary performers like Tony Bennett, Frankie Valli and comedian Steven Wright.

The 15th annual PlayhouseSquare District Block Party & Tour is set for Friday, September 5, from 5-9 p.m., on U.S. Bank Plaza, located at Euclid Avenue and East 14th Street. The event features live entertainment by Cats on Holiday and Grupo Son Gitano; a tour of the neighborhood through the Take a Hike program; signature dishes by PlayhouseSquare restaurants, A Taste of Excellence Catering, and Johnsonville Sausage; a cash bar and the PlayhouseSquare Cornhole Championship Game. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online atplayhousesquare.org, by phone at 216-241-6000 or at the PlayhouseSquare Ticket Office.

The 15th Annual Dance Showcase at PlayhouseSquare starts at 7:00 p.m. on September 5 in the Connor Palace and features eight of Northeast Ohio’s best professional dance companies: Inlet Dance Theatre, Dance/Theatre Collective, Sujatha Srinivasan, Neos Dance Theatre, Emily Crofford, Verb Ballets, ShowPeace Entertainment and Ohio Dance Theatre. Guests also will be treated to a special appearance by members of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, performing an excerpt of resident choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo’s PACOPEPEPLUTO, set to the music of Dean Martin.
