Player chokes teammate: Renaldo Balkman, a former NBA player who now players for the Petron Blaze Boosters inside the Philippines Basketball Association, choked his own teammate when he got upset on the court.
Balkman, who was upset that no foul call was called when he was in the paint, got angry at the referees on the court. Once his assistant coaches came in to help him cool down, Balkman (a former Denver Nuggett) started pushing them away, as well.
When one of Balkman’s own teammates comes in to calm him down, Renaldo shoves him off him, pretty hard, with two hands.
But it’s when #29, Arwind Santos, comes into the shot that things get especially…handsy.
Santos walks over to talk some sense into a hopping mad Balkman. But Balkman doesn’t want to hear it. He says something to Santos that clearly upsets him, because Santos gives Balkman a quick shove.
Balkman not only then shoves back, but puts his two hands around Sanots’ neck and begins to choke him.
Balkman has not only since apologized publicly to Santos for the incident, but he’s also apologized to Santos’ family as well as the Philippines Basketball Association for his dirty actions.
