On Feb. 21, 2013, the Los Angeles Police Dept. responded to a call reporting an assault at the famed Playboy Mansion.
KTLA reports multiple police units arrived on scene around 6 a.m., but officers were not able to find evidence that a crime took place.
A spokesperson for Playboy told the local news media outlet that someone apparently made a prank call to authorities.
TMZ reports that although the caller made a bogus report, police do not believe it was an incident of “swatting” in which a prank call is made to 911 to get a SWAT team to respond to the homes of celebrities.
Police believe someone actually thought an assault was taking place when they made the call to authorities.
Justin Bieber, Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown, and Tom Cruise have all been victims of swatting.
According to KTLA, a 12 year old boy has been charged for the prank call that sent authorities to the Kutcher’s home in Oct. 2012.
