Nintendo disclosed new information on the playable demo of "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U. According to a post from the franchise's official Facebook page on June 4, the company revealed that customers at Best Buy can play as Mega Man, one of the new characters for the crossover fighting game. The Capcom mascot was announced to be playable approximately a year ago at E3 2013.

Select stores from the retail chain will be opening up the "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U demo stations on two separate occasions. The first will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 11. Those who can't be present at the initial event will have another chance from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on June 14. The same demo is also going to be playable on the show floor at E3 2014 from June 10 to June 12. The official event page for the playable demo can be found on the Best Buy site.

Nintendo also revealed a new item for both of the 3DS and Wii U versions. The boomerang can be thrown and caught during the middle of battle. The attack power of the item increases every time it is caught in midair. However, the opposition can also catch the boomerang. Nintendo suggests that the best use for the item is in the Smash Run mode, which is exclusive to the handheld iteration. You can find an image of the boomerang from the same Facebook site near the top of this article and the description below:

Here's a new item that we've thrown in - the boomerang. As you'd guess, it'll fly back into your hands after you throw it, and if you keep catching it, its attack power grows with each throw! However, opponents can nab the boomerang out of the air, so it might be an easier item to use in Smash Run.

"Super Smash Bros 4" for 3DS and "Super Smash Bros 4" for Wii U should have the same set of items. On the other hand, both version should feature a different set of assist trophies, pocket monsters and stages. The handheld title is coming out in the summer while the console release is due later down the road during the winter.
