The social media world is expanding and turning heads every day. Vehicles can do the same thing. Now, Toyota is taking a new 'twist' on using the popular Rubik's Cube* game to turn heads toward the new Toyota RAV4. The long-time popular Cube is now being used to sell cars.
Toyota has just announced that the RAV4 with its versatility and contemporary style is becoming the 'vehicle' allowing people to play on social media as part of an interactive marketing campaign. The game features a virtual Rubik's Cube that anyone can use to personalize and create a photo souvenir.
The virtual Rubick's Cube is designed to used on tablets or smart phones that can run the Android or the iOS systems. These are the most popular for social networking. The player used their hand-eye movements similar to those that use the actual physical Cube. The Rubik's Cube has been popular for many years, and like many other games and contests, it has now made its way onto the 'virtual' computerized world.
Consumers can actually play on-line and create a personalized photo Cube at www.RAV4cube.com
“We are excited to provide consumers with this fun and creative extension of the Toyota RAV4 brand,” said David Chung, National Manager of Targeted Advertising and Strategy for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “The social media app has been very popular and created a deep level of engagement with people, who have made and shared thousands of customized Rubik’s Cubes with their networks.”
This RAV4 Rubik's Cube game was introduced in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles earlier this year with live events. The virtual game is being targeted at the Hispanic marketplace, although anyone can access the site and play.
