Play resources within the community

If you didn't get a chance to make it to one of the Giggle, Play, Connect events at Groveland Elementary's inclusive playground over the summer, not only did you miss the fun of these community-building events, you may also have missed out on some great resources. For example, what follows are some community resources that were given at the last Giggle, Play, Connect event to help find places for people of all abilities to play.

Deephaven beaches, Eden Prairie Park & Recreation, Foss Swim School, Minnetonka Community Education, Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Services, Three Rivers Park District, Wilderness Inquiry, and the YMCA. These organization recognize the importance of play for all individuals for their health and wellness. Through the programs offered, people have a chance to connect with one another as well as learn or try new things.

They say that play is the work of a child. It is how children explore and learn about their world and the other people in it. Being able to connect in such a way within the community is great for children to really learn and grow. Families are afforded opportunities to get to know their neighbors and the other people within their community.

Check out these local resources and stay tuned as more events are being planned for the future. If you have any questions or want more information, contact Mary Hauff at MNKidsplay@gmail.com.
