The mission of Carol for a Cause is simple: Inspiring people to give through song.

On carolforacause.com, you can download the song “Christmas Time”, sung by artist Dana Robinson, with lyrics written by Dana Clark. There is also a video of Robinson performing the song.

Carol for the Cause does not support any specific charity at this time. Rather, it was created to encourage everyone to get out and give to others. The hope is that people can reflect on the song, and in turn go out and do something in regards to donating to a charity, or volunteering one’s time.

For Clark, a psychologist and organizational consultant, writing lyrics is something she started just a few years ago. The idea for this song came about during the holiday season after learning of her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis. Dana became inspired by the holiday season, which she says “is about giving, and it’s about love, and I was feeling an overwhelming sense of love towards my mother during that time.”

Clark hopes to extend this message of giving and love far and wide by using one of the fastest ways possible—the internet.  Carol for a Cause is linked to many major social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, and good old-fashioned email.

"Christmas Time" is a song for everyone.  It's about spreading the charitable spirit.  It's about playing it forward. 

It's about pausing for a minute and being able to say, "you know what?  I can help."
