The Belle Meade Plantation Doll Club was scheduled to gather for their regular hourly club meeting on Jan. 3 at 7 pm at Shoney's in Bellevue. Dolls were set up in New Year's displays as well as Christmas clearance Barbies for the first meeting of 2013.
Because of some issues with tardiness and club procedures, the club founder and president was to have presented a program covering the group's by-laws, established when the club was launched in 1997. However, the program was canceled at 7:15 because no members had shown up yet.
The Plantation Belles meets for one hour the first Thursday of every month with meetings beginning at 7 pm. Some members elect to stay later to talk, but meetings officially end at 8 pm. For any club, class, business, organization or function, it is appropriate to respect the established schedule and show up when the meetings start.
