The choices available today in the world a bulbs is enormous. Through hybridization the choices available in each bulb category has exploded over the years. Besides color, of which there are a myriad of choices, the shapes and sizes of the different types of bulbs has also seemingly exploded exponentially.
A simple visit to your local nursery or home improvement store provides you with enormous choices in daffodils, tulips, crocuses, hyacinths, and so on. If one wants to increase the choice of bulbs (their color, size, shape, type etc.) even further, one needs to go no further than a bulb catalog, the choices available in catalogs can seem mind boggling at times.
Where to plant, how many bulbs to plant, what colors to plant are all up to the individual. Some basic tenets include planting the taller bulbs in the back, medium bulbs in the middle and shorter bulbs in the front. And to create the greatest impact, plant in bunches, there is nothing more moving than seeing a giant splash of color in early spring.
