The Florida Gulf Coast Amateur Radio Council (FGCARC) has arranged to hold their annual hamfest at the Plant City, FL Strawberry Festival Grounds on Reynolds Street on the west side of Plant City. This tailgate - indoor hamfest and radio flea market begins around 1 pm Friday, Dec. 6th, and winds up Saturday evening Dec. 7th. There is plenty free parking. Admission at the gate is $10/person. Complete details are available at the FGCARC website here. A pdf brochure and map are available from this website also [or click the link below].
While you are at the hamfest, look for retired TV reporter Warren Elly out in the tailgate area, where he usually has some priceless electronic goodies for sale. If you want the bargains, be sure to get there early!
The local QRP'ers have attempted to organize a low-power session during the hamfest, and if you like low power operation, you can find more information at this link.
