Recommendations and detailed strategies for a Central SOMA “eco-district” are about to be presented to San Francisco’s Planning Commission. That’s according to SocketSite, which reports that key recommendations lie in several areas:
- Equitable development
- Economic development
- Community building
- Habitat and eco-system function
- Access and mobility
- Health and well-being
- Actual implementation of the district.
You can find more specifics at the Central SOMA Eco-District Recommendations report, which reads, in fanciful part: “Welcome to the Central SoMa Eco-District (CSED). It is the year 2099, many decades since our foundation. We are stepping into the 22nd century confident and prepared, recognizing the leadership role we have played in the global response to environmental change. We have been teaching, learning and adapting as we linked with the other 1000 plus Eco-Districts now in full operation around the globe.”
