A trip to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London to be held July 27 through August 12, will be the ultimate adventure for many Springfieldians. And, if you’re planning to go and haven’t yet made arrangements, you now have less than 258 days (at this writing) to purchase your tickets, finalize your travel plans, find suitable accommodations and polish up on your Queen's English.
Got Your Tickets Yet?
Tickets for Olympic events go fast. So fast, in fact, that if you haven’t applied for your tickets yet, tickets to the events of your choice may be sold out. According to the official ticketing website of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, applications for tickets to the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics have already been closed.
All may not be lost, however. After officials sort through the ticket applications they’ve already received, any remaining tickets will be available for purchase after November 18. Tickets to events that are particularly popular, where demand exceeds supply, will be sold via an “automated and random selection process.
The website will also offer people who have tickets and find that they are unable to use them an opportunity to resell them. You can sign up on the website after the November 18 deadline to receive ongoing information about ticket availability.
Be aware of Olympic ticket sale scams
A word to the wise, there are some shady organizations out there, so don’t fall for Olympic ticket sale scams. Visit the ticketing website checker to confirm that you’re buying your tickets from an authorized ticket reseller.
Stay tuned for more tips on making your visit to London’s 2012 Olympics a memorable one.
