Thinking about running away? I suggest you do it. Why not, you only live once. If you are looking for a fun getaway with charm, good food, and something a little out of the ordinary- why not visit Massachusetts? There is so much to do there, and this time of year is perfect for a trip. Great weather, less crowds, and everything is still open.
We recently took a trip up North, and stayed at the very family friendly Harbor Hotel Provincetown, just a short walk from the center of town, famous food and attractions, and right across the street from the beach. This hotel has a restaurant right on site (a real one, not a dive that you get stuck eating at because it’s there) as well as a poolside cabana offering good eats, drinks, and desserts poolside. Don’t feel like leaving the pool? Don’t. It’s a real getaway, you make what you want of it. Explore, don’t explore, be a hotel-body and lounge about by the pool all day- it’s your trip. Do what you want! They even have a fire pit, which as you can see my family very much enjoyed.
Harbor Hotel Provincetown, a year round hotel offers stylish waterfront accommodations, uncommonly good food and entertainment year-round. The opening of this exhibit is part of ARTBEAT – a series of exhibits celebrating the Provincetown art experience. ARTBEAT was introduced at the hotel last year and returns in 2013. The hotel will continue to be home to rotating exhibits of painting, sculpture, video and film, as well as co-sponsored events with local collectors and museums. Experience the unveiling of “Provincetown Award Winners” – the best of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum’s members.
If you do feel adventurous, there is much to see and do right outside the hotel’s doors. One thing that your whole family will love is Whale Watching on one of the Cape’s many boats made famous for the many sightings. These tours last about 4 hours, so bring snacks. That may seem long, but you need to get into deep waters to see these magnificent creatures. Plus, the ride itself is a lot of fun.
Check out the famous Lobster Pot, or John’s Footlong Hot Dogs- these are just fun. Grab a quick bite or sit down to eat, or grab a bite at the hotel’s Whaler Lounge, which offers a wide variety of foods from salads, to burgers, to the freshest seafood you could want to eat. Plus, the commute to your room will be a breeze ;)
There is more then enough time to head over to the Harbor Hotel and spend some time before winter kicks it into high gear. Why not make the most of the beautiful weather?
