Since 1997, Planet Dog is known in the animal world industry as their leading socially responsible, values-based design house. They established the organization in order to join people with canines for both fun and mutual support; satisfying both human and canine needs.
Their mission is one that they fulfill every chance that they get. The mission was established in order to amuse, explore, support, innovate, create, educate, celebrate and philanthropate….all in the name of the dog.
In February, March and April, The Planet Dog Company Store has organized three adoption days in order to make certain that as many homeless dogs as possible locate their forever homes. The adoption days are as follows:
· Saturday, February 16th from Noon until 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) the Planet Dog Store will host Mainely Lab Rescue.
· Saturday, March 9th, from Noon until 2:00 p.m. EST is when the Planet Dog Store is scheduled to host Northeast Pyrenees Rescue.
· On Saturday, March 23rd, from Noon until 2:00 p.m. EST, Lucky Pup Rescue will be in the Store.
· The last adoption day scheduled at Planet Dog during the first third of 2013 is scheduled for April 13th from Noon until 3:00 p.m. with Mainely Lab Rescue.
In addition to helping dogs get rescued, Planet Dog also hosts other events such as the one scheduled for Tuesday, February 12th from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. This event is right in time for Valentine’s Day. It is Planet Dog’s 9th Annual Valentine’s Day Kissing Contest. This contest is for the longest, sloppiest Buddy-to-Human Companion kiss. The winner will be eligible to win a $75 bundle of Planet Dog’s bestselling non-toxic, recyclable products. Those that are able to attend the event with their beloved four-legged best friend will be able to enjoy free treats, beer and wine for a very reasonable $5 entry fee. The entry fee will be a donation to Planet Dog Foundation (otherwise known as PDF). They will utilize the donations to support their canine services.
Finally, The Planet Dog Store will be hosting Puppy Training Classes today and February 11th from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. The classes will be offered with Diana Logan. They will also offer classes for puppies on Wednesdays from January 30th (1st class was last week) all the way through March 6th from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mallory Hattie will offer these classes. Both trainers are top notch!
If you plan on being in the Portland, Maine area, you may just want to add one or all of these items to your calendar for 2013.
