Planes is scheduled for arrival as a Sensory Friendly screening at select AMC theaters nationwide on Saturday, August 31, 2013. The captain has turned off the seat belt sign during Sensory Friendly screenings, meaning viewers are free to move about the cabin. Talking is also permitted during the show, the lights are left on and the engine noise is turned down. Food and beverage service, while not provided by flights attendants, is allowed.
Sensory Friendly screenings give special needs kids the chance to see first-run family movies in a comfortable and accepting environment. The admission is reduced, and all showings begin at 10 am. The showings are a partnership between AMC and Autism Society. To find a participating theater in your area click here.
