Plan a beautiful wedding in Florida State Parks

Planning a wedding and looking for a romantic spot to exchange vows and entertain guests can be a daunting task. Consider one of Florida's state parks for beautiful locations offering a variety of facilities for receptions. Outdoor settings are found in well-groomed botanical gardens, along the sandy beach, under centuries old trees and on peaceful lake shores. A few of the parks offer reception options from picnic pavilions to meeting halls with amenities.

The central region has numerous locations many couples have found to be lovely for their ceremonies. Contact the state park in advance to determine the fees, set the date and make reservations for facilities. Bulow Creek State Park in Ormond Beach has the largest remaining stands of southern live oak forest along Florida's east coast. Under the expansive spread of the massive limbs of one of the largest live oak trees in the South, the Fairchild Oak, is one of the prettiest locations for a wedding ceremony. The tree has stood witness to history along Bulow Creek for 400 years and no doubt seen many couples be wed in the shade of its branches. Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland is located within the Green Swamp Wilderness Area and is teaming with wildlife. The pine flatwoods, cypress domes and open pasture lands are home to American bald eagles, sherman's fox squirrels, gopher tortoises, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, bobcats and many other species.
