While people may like their pizza with a pop or a beer, the pizza cookie is likely going to improve their milk sales at the Pizza Hut restaurants throughout the country. The Pizza Hut pizza cookie is nearly pizza-sized at eight inches. It is basically a chocolate chip cookie. As for the chocolate, it’s good. It’s Hershey’s.
While internally called the pizza cookie, Pizza Hut has teamed up with Hershey’s chocolate for what is formally called the Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie. The idea is to get people to not only enjoy their pizzas, but to enjoy a gooey, chocolaty cookie for dessert. The pizza cookie is not only available at the pizza restaurants, but it is also available for delivery and carry-out as well.
The restaurant business is very competitive these days. In particularly, there are a great many pizza businesses vying for American consumers’ money at their cash registers. Admittedly, Pizza Hut is trying to get people to choose their restaurants over their many competitors. The restaurant chain’s marketers believe that the pizza cookie will be a hit with their younger customers and will keep them coming back to them for the cookie and their other offerings.
Carrie Walsh, chief marketing officer of Pizza Hut restaurants, says the millennials are telling them that this is what they want. She says young people want to top off a great pizza with a great dessert. The pizza cookie will cost people $4.99 if they order a pizza with it. If they only want the pizza cookie and don’t order pizza, the cost is a dollar more, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
