Geocachers are some of the world’s best planners. Foresight, if not already developed, is put to the test every time they plan a route and load the GPS with cache coordinates. So, it should come as no surprise that Calgary geocacher, One Bad Ant, foresaw the need to plan a Pizza & Beer event to help fellow cachers map out the most anticipated summer geocaching event in southern Alberta: the Calgary Cache and Release 2010 (CCARS10)!

Pizza & Beer is on Thursday, August 26th from 5:30-9 p.m. at Ricky’s Restaurant at North Hill Mall, Calgary NW. It is a come and go social time where kids and caching families are most welcome (rootbeer optional). Come for a bite to eat and mingle with others as intrigued, baffled, confounded and delirious about geocaching as you are.

The focus of the evening is planning routes and discussing the CCARS10 event upcoming this Saturday, August 28th. Feel free to bring your laptop and load up your GPS with the new geocaches being released for CCARS10 event during Pizza & Beer. Discuss the puzzles, plan a route, trade your trackables and enjoy some of Ricky’s finest nachos. You’ll need all the energy you can get for the 24-hour geocaching marathon on Saturday.

First time at an event? Don’t worry, these are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. Just head in through the outside entrance and join the noisy group up the level to the left. They’ll make you feel right at home. The best part is: you get credit for attending with another cache under your belt! Carpe (the event) cache!
