Pizza and a place to stay in the San Francisco East Bay

RV travelers are often free spirits with few worries. Some days, the most pressing issues are where to park the RV for the night, and what to have for dinner. Having a kitchen while traveling around the country is convenient, and a huge cost savings, but sometimes even RVers just have to go out for pizza. Especially, if there is a Zachary’s in the neighborhood.

Zachary’s Chicago Pizza has collected over 100 “Best Pizza” awards since they opened their first restaurant in Oakland back in 1983. One bite of their deep dish, stuffed pizza, and you’ll understand why. Once you taste that flavorful sauce and cheesy goodness, you’ll wonder how you ever got along without it. If you’re one of those crazy people who prefer a thin crust for your pizza, Zachary’s has something for you too. While you are waiting for your mouth-watering, award-winning pizza, you can enjoy the art work from Zachary’s customers that adorns the walls of all three restaurants. This pizza is so tasty; you may want to find a campground or RV park nearby, just in case you decide to go back again.  In the San Francisco East Bay Area, there are three Zachary’s locations to choose from: Oakland, Berkeley, and San Ramon.

Finding a campground or RV park in the East Bay isn’t easy. This area just doesn’t cater to the RV crowd like Florida or Arizona. But if you want to go to Zachary’s in San Ramon, the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park in Pleasanton is not far away. Although it is not the most scenic RV park in the country, its convenient location allows for easy excursions to San Francisco attractions and the Livermore wine country. Hiking, biking, and shopping are close by, as is charming downtown Pleasanton. More information and rates can be obtained from their web site at www.thefairparkrv.com.

If Zachary’s in Oakland or Berkeley is your destination, you might consider the Anthony Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley. This campground offers 75 campsites and access to miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails along the shores of Lake Chabot. Check out their website to obtain more information or make reservations.
