The 2014 NCAA basketball live stream and televised games on Saturday will include a showdown between former Big East foes who have now moved to a new conference. However, both teams are off to undefeated starts, and today's winner will have early season bragging rights, with the game possibly changing some rankings as well. The ACC's newest teams, Pittsburgh and Syracuse will battle at the Carrier Dome in New York, with the latest televised and live stream NCAA basketball game from the schedule presented to fans from ESPN networks.

According to a Jan. 18 ESPN.com report, current-No. 2 Syracuse remains as one of the few undefeated teams in college basketball with a perfect mark of 17-0 overall and 4-0 in the ACC. The No. 22 Pittsburgh Panthers are also 4-0 in the ACC, but 16-1 on the season. However, Pitt has lost one game so far this season, giving them a mark of 16-1. The game should provide a major test for the Orange, despite the fact it is on their home court, as Pittsburgh has only allowed opponents to score 70 points or more twice this season. Syracuse is currently averaging 72.8 per game, while the Panthers come in scoring 77.3 per contest.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, they lost a key player in sixth man Durand Johnson last Saturday. Johnson hurt his knee, ending his season, and was averaging 8.8 points a game for the Panthers. In his absence, it means other players will need to step up if they want to defeat C.J. Fair and the Orange, a team currently on a 17-game winning streak. Pitt guard Cameron Wright said of the situation:

"When we lost Durand, that hurts us all. We're playing even harder for him."

Pitt coach Jamie Dixon noted that rebounding will be key for his team on the road today. Pittsburgh currently is 77th in the country in that category. They’re also eighth in the nation in assists, dishing out 17.2 per game, and 19th in field goal percentage at about 49% per game. Currently, senior forward Lamar Patterson is filling up stat sheets for the team with his 17.6 points per game, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Sophomore guard James Robinson from Mitchellville, Maryland is adding 8.1 points a game and 4.1 assists for the Panthers, while forward Talib Zanna is helping out on the points and boards with 13.0 points averaged and 8.1 rebounds a game. Pitt will likely need a strong performance from all three if they want to defeat the Orange on the road today.

Syracuse first opened as 7-point favorites today, but since then they’ve fallen a few points to 5 or even 4-1/2 point favorites at various books. The over/under for today’s game is 126 1/2 points at many sports books after first opening at 124 points for the game. Next up for Syracuse will be an away game a week from today at Miami (FL), while Pitt will return home on Tuesday night to host the Clemson Tigers.

Saturday’s Pittsburgh vs. Syracuse college basketball game has a start time scheduled for 4 p.m. EST. This game will be presented in standard and hi-definition on ESPN. Also, there will be live stream coverage on WatchESPN for those with access to the free service. The online sports broadband network is available for specific cable and satellite providers.
