If you’re looking for an out-of-the-box Valentine’s Day activity that works just as well for a great group date night as it does for an intimate evening together, then grab your skates—or rent a pair—at these three Pittsburgh outdoor skating rinks that are hosting sweetheart-themed skating events this Valentine’s Day.
Hours: Feb. 14 – 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Price: $4 per couple/$2.50 per skate rental
Every Valentine’s Day, hundreds of local couples flock to Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park for the rink’s Valentine’s On Ice public skating session, which returns for another year this Valentine’s Day. The rink’s special BOGO admission includes public skating time, a keepsake photo of you and your valentine, the chance to compete in a puck-shoot contest and plenty of other sweet treats. Be among the first 175 couples to take to the ice and you’ll also receive a rose courtesy of Alex’s Flowers in Oakland and assorted chocolates from Betsy Ann Chocolates. If your toes are feeling froze after a few laps around this beautiful outdoor rink, head inside and warm up with complimentary dance lessons from Salsa Pittsburgh instructors, free pizza from Lucci’s Pizza of Squirrel Hill and a mini-massage from Squirrel Hill’s Massage Envy. Raffles and contests will also be held, featuring fantastic prizes from local businesses like BodyTech, Holiday Inn-University Center, X Shadyside and the Pittsburgh CLO. This year’s Valentine’s On Ice event is sponsored by UPMC Health Plan and hosted in conjunction with 100.7 STAR and Citiparks. Please note this event is for adults only, ages 18 and older.
Hours: Feb. 14 – 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Price: $5 per couple/$2 per skate rental
