Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders to hold job fair

The Pittsburgh Pirates will host a McKechnie Concessions Job Fair at Pirate City on Wednesday, December 12, and again on Wednesday, January 9. Applicants will have interviews on the spot. Open positions will also be posted online for those who can not attend.

The Pirates Florida operations manages day-to-day operation of McKechnie Field, the team’s spring training home and home field of the Florida State League’s Bradenton Marauders. It also manages Pirate City, the major and minor league club’s training facility and concessions at the ballpark.

The Pirates are an equal opportunity employer and promote a safe and drug free environment, so background checks and drug testing are a condition of employment. Some of the positions most frequently available that are posted throughout various times of the year are as follows:

McKechnie Concessions: Game day staff-Bartenders, Cashiers, Cooks, Host/Hostess, Supervisors and support crew

McKechnie Field: Game day staff-Merchandise store, Ticket seller, Ticket taker, usher

Florida Operations: Driver, Grounds crew, Internship

Pirate City: Front desk receptionist

The Pittsburgh Pirates have released their 2013 Spring Training schedule and ticket pricing for games at McKechnie Field. The 33-game Florida schedule consists of 16 home games and will also feature an intrasquad “Black and Gold” game on Friday, February 22 and an exhibition game against Team Brazil, who is participating in the World Baseball Classic, on Tuesday, March 5.

The Pirates are scheduled to open their 2013 Grapefruit League season against the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday, February 23 in Port Charlotte. The Pirates will then host the Braves the following day in their Spring Training Home Opener at McKechnie Field on Sunday, February 24 at 1:05 p.m.
