Pittsburgh girls have style and they do it on a budget! Whether they are still living in the city or bringing their style to another place, Pittsburgh girls know how to bargain hunt and look fabulous! Michelle, a 26 year-old candidate concierge at Google and bartender from Freeport talks about her style, her best bargain, and that dream purchase!
What is one word to describe your style?
Pittsburgh (lots of jerseys, camo and cowgirl boots)
What are your wardrobe staples?
Love leggings (very important to make sure you can’t see through them), Sweaters, boots, skinny jeans, and of course my fair share of Steeler Jerseys, and Penguin and Pirate gear and being a country girl, I do have some camo and cow girl boots I love to wear
What is one piece of fashion you could never pull off?
High waisted pants.. I have very long legs and a short torso.. I would look very goofy in high waisted pants
What is your favorite clothing season (fall, winter, spring, summer)?
I love fall and winter.. I love wearing boots and sweaters.. and its also Steeler season so much more acceptable to throw on a jersey and run out of the house.. also I have so many scarves and coats.. a girl can never have too many pea coats.
What stores do you regularly shop in?
I love EXPRESS, they always have coupons out so its easy to get a deal, and my friend Janie had introduced me to a boutique in the South Side, Fig Leaf. SUPER affordable and super cute clothes, its definitely where most of my retail therapy is done.
What was the best deal you ever found?
TJMaxx.. the best place for the blow your mind deals.. I have a couple Michael Kors purses from there.. they are over 100 dollars off.. also I had gotten a Northface ski suit from there top and bottoms for about 150 dollars.
If you were given $1000 and could splurge on one item of clothing/shoes/purses/jewelry, what would you buy?
$1000 huh? That’s a tough one.. I would probably say jewelry.. I have a pair of earrings I adore from my boyfriend, they are actually bullet casings turned into studs (like I said I’m a country girl) and I have a very important ring that my grandfather had gotten me, and a super cute Tiffany’s necklace with hearts that feed through one another from my father, but other than that I don’t have nice jewelry so I would probably splurge on that and build up my collection. After all, I do love everything that sparkles!
