Pittcon Conference and Expo is returning to Philadelphia for its annual week-long convention, held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from March 17-21. The conference attracts current scientists for its well-known technical courses and also promotes science education in the city.
Through these short courses, the conference offers current scientists the opportunity to learn about the newest research and developments in their field. Other courses allow them to take part in hands-on work and network with their peers. Course topics range from electrochemistry to gas chromatography to technical writing.
The courses range from half a day up to two days long, and the price varies according to the course length.
Pittcon also promotes science education throughout the city with Science Week. The conference offers student and teacher workshops on variety of scientific topics, as well as a live demonstration by the Science Week Committee on Thursday, March 21.
The conference also attracts many companies to its Exhibition. Philadelphia and its surrounding area house many biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Representatives have a booth where they can show off their latest new device, product or development to the visiting scientists.
Pittcon has even created a mobile app so people can follow along with conference details and events throughout the week.
